MyWorkoutPal privacy policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This policy explains what MyWorkoutPal collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

What we collect

  • Account: your name and email from the way you sign in (Apple, Google or an email code), and an account id. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only see the private address Apple gives us.
  • Training data: your answers during setup, programs, workouts, sets, weights, templates, preferences and the notes you add. Notes can include injuries or other health details you choose to share.
  • Chat: your messages and the coach's replies.
  • Usage and device data: how you use the app, your device details and IP address, app errors and timings, and how much you use the AI coach.
  • Purchases: whether you have an active subscription, if you subscribe.

How we use it

  • To run the app: build and change your program, log your workouts and show your progress.
  • To power the AI coach (see AI Data Processing), and to apply usage limits to it.
  • To understand how the app is used, find problems and improve it. This includes reading conversations.

We don't sell your personal data.

AI Data Processing

MyWorkoutPal uses third-party AI providers to power the AI coach. That covers building your program, reading the photos and files you attach, and answering your messages.

  • They process your messages, attachments, training data and first name to produce the coach's answers.
  • We don't sell personal data or share it with AI providers for advertising.
  • AI processing happens only after you agree in the app.

Photos and files you attach

Photos and files are stored privately for your account. Other users can't see them, and nothing you attach gets a public link. Photos are resized, and hidden photo data such as location is removed. You can choose a photo from a chat or from your library as the picture of your own custom exercise. It stays private to your account.

Sharing your information

We share data with companies that help us run MyWorkoutPal. Each one gets only what it needs for its job:

  • Cloud hosting and database providers, which store your account and training data.
  • File storage providers, which keep your attachments.
  • A sign-in provider, which handles your login.
  • AI providers (see AI Data Processing).
  • A web search provider, which receives a search query or page address when the coach searches the web or reads a page.
  • An error logging provider, which receives technical details such as your account id, timings and error messages. We design these logs to leave out your chats and files.
  • An analytics provider, which receives information about how you use the app.
  • A push notification provider, which receives your account id and device details so it can send you notifications. It gets your device's notification token only if you allow notifications.
  • Apple and a subscription service, once subscriptions are available. The subscription service receives your account id so it can tell us whether your subscription is active. Apple handles any payment.

We also share data when the law requires it, or as part of a sale or merger of MyWorkoutPal.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. Files you upload but never use are normally deleted within two days.

Your choices

  • Notifications: turn them off any time in your phone's Settings.
  • Delete your account in the app, under Profile, or by emailing us. This deletes your account, workouts, logs, chats and files from our database and file storage. Before you delete, you can export your logged sets. Copies held by service providers, such as logs and backups, are deleted on those providers' own schedules.

Children

MyWorkoutPal is not meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them.
